The Journey of a Thousand Leagues Begins with Beginner Journeyman Leagues

Are you awed by that title? I’m so proud of it that I may actually burst.

Today I ran a Demo Day at “Just by Chance Games” in Waterloo. Alicia, who owns/works at the store, helped me get set up, and I showed up with the above models, ready to teach! Simultaneously, we also started a Journeyman League for all the eager players who were ready to dip their toes into WarMachine!

Podcast 043 – Mercs Vs. Menoth – Fiona Vs. Kreoss3: The Truncated Charge of the Exemplar Brigade

You guys are probably getting sick of hearing about my games all the time but once again this week I am matched up against Darrell and his Menoth.
(Marc: This is partially my fault, and partially Gaven’s fault… I had to stay home and take care of a sick girlfriend, and Gaven’s wife just autogenerated his first child, a daughter… so we had to go with our fall-back game, Nick and Darrell. Sorry!
Also, turns out Nick can’t spell “Kreoss”. I apologize for all the typos in the report… I corrected it in the Title, but the rest of it is Nick’s responsibility!)

The Quest for Mediocrity: Going Hardcore

medocrity

So as I’ve stated before, I’m working on getting my two 50 point Protectorate lists painted up.  If I can manage it between work, the wife and kids it will be the first time I’ll have fielded a fully painted force since I started WarmaHordes.

The Quest for Mediocrity: I am a Special Unique Snowflake

Special snowflake is special

In the Protectorate, it snows fire.

Greetings all!  I’m back to regale you with more tales of my epic adventures in failure.  Well, actually I plan on discussing with you some of the more eccentric aspects of my list building and play-style; why I choose some of the unconventional units that I do and why I favour some of the “lower tier casters”.

Podcast 040 – Menoth vs Menoth, Vindictus vs Kreoss3: Who's the Idiot that Gave Marc the Camera?

Seriously. Some of the pictures from this report are *awful*…

They’re not going to get much better than that one, folks… sorry about this! I blame Nick… he handed me an extremely powerful and sensitive camera, and I treated it like a point-and-click device… which it is definitely not. Thankfully we managed to salvage a bunch of good pictures out of the mess!

Podcast 037 – Today’s game made possible in part by Small World with cooperation by Cosmic Encounter

This week was a game against Khador and Skorne. I only took a bunch of pictures and I wasn’t recording the play-by-play. Marc told me to and I didn’t. *shrugging* I don’t know what you want me to say. You come into my house, ask me politely to record the game for the podcast, I agree then refrain from doing it because the game starts going badly and I’m to blame? No. Not on my watch. This is entirely Marc’s fault. He clearly said beforehand “we’ll play the games and whichever one is better, we’ll use.” This was witnessed by three other people and two cats. I had the veteran experience to see that my game was going badly and therefore gave up, allowing Marc to move ahead into the winners circle of games-being-played-that-night-to-use-on-the-next-podcast.
