After finally (FINALLY) finishing my Errants (they are now being sealed, which is such a blissful feeling…), I’ve moved on to my Bastions. Solid progress on them already… first coats of gold and silver went down quickly and painlessly.
Now, of course, there are a lot of “gold highlights” that haven’t been done, but I’m not sure how many of those I’ll actually end up doing. I don’t really like the look of gold “buttons” on a maroon background… normally I prefer to do maroon highlights, since I think it looks more natural (and since it’s slightly less likely for me to screw up!). But we’ll see as this goes along… there will probably be at least a bit more gold on their helmets before I’m done!
Anyhoo, I’m sure I’ll edit this post a few times before it goes live on Wednesday to show off progress… next is the first coat of white (I think… I’m pretty sure these guy’s robes will be white, and that’s the “lowest” section I need to paint), which I may even get started on today (Saturday)! Wish me luck!
As predicted, I managed to get most of the white finished on the Bastions… pretty content with how these folk are coming along! The helmets are going to be tricky, but they’re okay so far…
Finished the second coat of white, and have started shading the whites as well… at least for the Seneschal. Hope to get the rest shaded tonight. After that, on to the maroons (probably? May do the white highlights instead… one or the other!).
