So despite the fact that I’ve done the last 2 podcast games in a row, it didn’t occur to Nick that *maybe* he should take pictures and notes for his game this week… and so our good listeners get to learn EVEN MORE about how much I suck with Siege!
In Nick’s defence, I didn’t tell him to take pictures… mostly because I wasn’t aware I needed to… but hey, I’m fielding a real man’s Siege list (finally), and it’s time to start putting it through its paces!
So here’s an update to Monsieur super bronzeback and the Easter egg I was referencing to in the latest podcast!
Marc came up with the funny idea to have an agonIzer carry the bronzeback instead of using a clear drowel. Needless to say I loved the idea.
Last weekend the Combo Smite crew headed down to Burlington, Ontario to compete in Canada’s first WTC style team tournament, the Ontario Team Championship. The event was run by Scott Talarico from Party Foul and a huge thanks go out to him and all his volunteers for putting on such an huge and successful Warmachine event. Team Combo Smite consisted of: Marc (Cygnar), Nick (legion), Kassem (Skorne), Adam (Cryx) and Darrell (Menoth). We made a good showing and our team went 3-1 and took 5th place. Most importantly we brought the camera down with us to record some games. Continue reading
The Store Wars tournament circuit is continuing in Southern Ontario this winter
I wasn’t able to make it to the tournament this weekend but I asked Marc to video tape some games for me. Continue reading
So when Aaron saw me pull out the new mammoth I got a couple months ago he said “I must paint that” as he drooled. He finally surprised me with this this week after not seeing it for a while:
A few more pictures after the cut!

Alright, so I finally picked tibbers back up and decided to finish his flames. I might do some touch ups on the arm later when I get the model painted. I’ll get Aaron to take better pictures soon because apparently my iphone doesn’t like fire colors 😛
So since – I don’t know… the spring? – I’ve been working on the Skorne colossal, the Mammoth. If any of you out there are considering playing or already play Skorne and have thoughts of picking up the Mammoth, may I suggest these very simple steps for painting it: 1) immediately regret it. 2) cry. 3) more regret. It’s not that the model is bad or poorly sculpted, in this particular instance I offered to paint the model; one which I could not actually play as it’s a different faction. The owner of said Mammoth, the infamous Kassem, even offered to pay for the paint which I would use but I refused; a decision I would later realise was the only thing that would have kept me in the green.
I liken painting the Mammoth to offering to take a cursed monkey’s hand off a friend: they would obviously agree but when they try to explain the curse, you dismiss them waving your hand saying, “Yeah, yeah, yeah I know what a cursed monkey’s hand is.” But oh no. No you don’t. Not yet.
This week I matched up my budding Legion horde against Kassem’s Skorne.
(Marc: Apologies again for the holiday yesterday resulting in the podcast releasing today instead of on Monday! Plenty of content coming out soon to compensate, as our way of saying “Thanks for listening”, and because we love doin’ this stuff!)
