I don’t know about all of you, but I often find myself wondering if a really, really good warcaster at the head of a fantastic list can beat a better player leading a worse warcaster with a sub-optimal list.
Stay tuned to find out!

Marc and I were present for the Second tournament in the Store Wars circuit at Hobby Kingdom which also happened to be the last tournament in the Store Wars circuit for 2015.
I set a goal for myself to qualify for the 16 man invitational this year that I have failed to meet. Unfortunately, life happens and I didn’t make it out for as many events as I’d hoped I would. Marc still has a good chance to make it though. Especially with his impressive 3-1 finish at his event. Continue reading
So last weekend was the Game Summit Masters in Ottawa. A fantastic time sandwiched between two brutally long drives… but totally worth it!
Due to the length of the trip and the exhaustion involved, and because of some game cancellations this week, we decided to do the trip as our Podcast game this week… so come, gather round friends, and listen to a tale of two novice WarMachine players in the distant north!

On Saturday, Nick and I attended a Steamroller Tournament in Toronto at the sublime Meeplemart. Great store! Long drive, but completely worth it!
It was a tonne of fun, but due to lack of battery on my phone, I only snagged a handful of pictures… but you can read the full reports below!

On Saturday it was time for a field trip to the Hobby Kingdom in Burlington, Ontario. After a few stumbles (turns out Tim can’t give directions to his home in Hamilton to be picked up… alternatively, why in 9 Hells does Hamilton have FIVE East Streets? And why are 2 of them called “East Street North” and “East Street South”… how does an EAST street have a North and South?! Ridiculous!), I arrived, ready to play my first ever 50pt Hardcore Tournament! The excitment was palatable! Palpable! Palpatine! P-Words!
(for those of you confused, as I was… that’s a picture of a Mammoth! Ever so slightly modified…)

Kassem has been excited to try out the new Skorne warlock… and since he doesn’t own the model yet, that meant proxy-time! Thankfully he has something that will work almost as well…
Yes, he had Xerxis riding his armless Hyperion. From a fluff-standpoint, it actually kinda makes sense… well, as much sense as anything Kassem does…

In a few weeks, a couple of the Combo Smite hosts (myself included) are heading down to Burlington, Ontario for a 50pt Hardcore tournament. As a result, I was happy to get some practice in with Nick for this unique (and fascinating!) format!
This is Nick’s first time playing a Hardcore game, *and* his first time trying out this particular list… this is my 2nd attempt at Hardcore, but the 3rd time I’ve used this list (or one similar to it, at least!)… sad that numbers like those make me the most experienced out of our group! The game was a little bit gong-showy, but as a practice game it was pretty solid, and I think there’s unquestionably a lot to learn from our attempts!
