Paintribution of Scyrah – Dawnguard Invictors

At last! The ordeal of painting the white armour plates of my Dawnguard Invictors has come to a close. They were the first unit I bought when I first started playing Warmachine almost 2 years ago.  They were long neglected as my collection grew to eventually include every model in Retribution’s arsenal. (except Nayl and Destors.  Come on, I’m not delusional!) Now they join the ranks of the fully painted units in my collection.IMG_2308 More photos inside.IMG_2309 IMG_2310 IMG_2311As for what’s next.  For Ret, I have both the Houseguard Riflemen and Mage Hunter Infiltrator units still left to be painted which I think are going to be a lot of fun but I probably should deal with the bunch of Griffons and Phoenixes that have been patiently waiting for their turn on the the painting table.

I still have my Dwarves itching for some table time as well but in order to buy the models I want to run them with I need to paint (personal challenge) what I’ve got first. Which includes a Basher and Dougal McNaile.

    • Thanks!!! They took forever but I am very satisfied with the results.
I think you’re implying that you are not a fan of the studio scheme on the Ret jacks. As it turns out I’m working on my Phoenix right now so soon we will see if your opinion can be swayed.

      • Heh, yes, I am not a huge fan of the white scheme on the myrmidons. As for changing my mind, we shall see. I hope so, since I’m completely stumped on how I want to paint my Retribution. If I could find a way to do the studio scheme that I really liked, that would certainly help me decide.

  1. Stunning work as always, Nick. And humbling… but I’m happy to see you’ve finally finished them! I look forward to the day you can field fully painted lists not by necessity (ie: “These are my models that are painted, so I guess I’ll have to use them…”) but by choice!

Can’t wait to see your Basher!
