Well, the OTC has come and gone. And while we, as a team, didn’t do great (Top 24 isn’t a thing, right?), we did have some great games, some really educational matchups, and a handful of learning experiences.
Come, listen to Kassem, Nick, and I talk about what we learned! It’s a good long podcast, perfect for a lazy Monday morning!
The dust has settled. The armies have been packed up. The tables are stacked away. The beer has finally been flushed from the collective systems of 200-odd WarMachine and Hordes players.
It is time for the post-Southern Ontario Open wrap up.
Throughout the pictures I took, you’re going to see some awesome zone-markers I bought in support of Team Canada (I bought 2 complete sets for running tournaments, and to help our boys get to Ireland). Please support Team Canada’s WTC funding efforts in your local area (assuming you can find somebody selling them! They’re awesome!). Continue reading →

Aww yeah. It feels good to be writing battle reports again… between life and work, I’ve had precious little time remaining for the important things: talking about glorious victories and ignoble defeats!
This set of 4 battle reports are from late January (yeah, I’m a little behind!) and will cover my results at the 2nd Store Wars tournament which happened at Black Knight Games in Hamilton.
We’ve already done the podcast for this (WEEKS ago), but if you’d like a more detailed blow-by-blow… read on! Continue reading →

This week Nick was matched up against Darrell and his Menoth. We are both practicing with our OTC lists.
Come listen to Nick forget his name (hey, it IS 4 letters long, and he’s only been using it for about 30 years…) and us discuss whether Fire of Salvation or Kreoss himself is a better choice for destroying Scytheans!
No Battle Report this week… instead, the three of us sat down to talk about some of our upcoming plans for 2015, some lists we’re thinking about running for upcoming tournaments, and some things coming down the pipes that we’re super excited about!
I said this would go up Wednesday… it goes up Friday… which is a little like Wednesday in that they both involve the word “day”! So… better late than never?
So on Saturday, the Combo Smite crew made the field trip down to Hobby Kingdom in Burlington, Ontario. This was my second time in the venue (the last time for my foray into “Hardcore” with Menoth, which was completely enjoyable if somewhat unsuccessful!), but the first time for Nick, Aaron, Darrell, and Kassem. Great venue, tonnes of fun… and a solid 27 players that showed up!
Nick is writing up his own reports from the event, but I do so love writing battle reports, and hopefully my (mis)adventures can help other Cygnar players!
Last weekend I ran a 50 point Steamroller event that Nick and Aaron attended. It was a tonne of fun, and Nick’s already posted his written batreps, but here’s the podcast we recorded shortly afterwards and I FINALLY managed to finish editing!
The regular weekly podcast will drop in a couple hours (9am EST), so check back for that too! Lots of content these days!
